Colorblocking
Woo-hoo, I just ordered some of the new stamp sets and accessories. Demonstrators get an extra discount on the sets in June so I couldn’t resist getting all 6 from the preview minicatalog. And I also couldn’t resist getting some of the new rhinestone brads and of course, an assortment of the new IN COLORS cardstock. I can’t wait to see the rest of the new products at the end of June.
Colorblocking is one of my favorite scrapbooking techniques. Here I have adapted it to cardmaking. I know many of my customers ordered the Pallete ‘O Prints designer paper sampler in May. This is a great way to use those papers. But don’t fear – if you didn’t order the papers last month, they will be available July 1 in 16 colors plus some of the new IN COLORS!!
All of these samples use the stamp set Petal Prints – one of my favorites – which will be retiring June 30. I used In My Thoughts for the sentiments. I cut apart some of the rubber and mounted it on the sides of the blocks when I thought the sayings would be more useful separated.
1. Cut a 5 x 3 3/4 ” piece of 2 sided designer paper.
2. Cut 1 1/2″ from end (while in portrait) or eyeball it.
3. Cut 1 3/4 ” from end (while in landscape) or eyeball it.
4. Lay out your 4 pieces. Flip 2 opposite pieces. You can also exchange them with different colored pieces cut with the same dimensions. Adhere and finish card.

I love your colourblocking — I did some of the same design (great minds think alike!)

I’ve tried colour blocking and had a tough time with it. I guess I don’t always make totally accurate cuts LOL!
Thanks for sharing!
