Today’s Tip - Dry Embossing with the CAD

Here’s a cool tip that we learned at convention using the Crop-A-Dile on one of our make and takes.  Set the blocks so that 1 and A are facing each other.  With the base at the bottom, squeeze the CAD on a piece of cardstock.   Make an evenly spaced line of embossed circles by lining up the black blocks for the next “squeeze”.

Here is our finished project - a pocket card made with the Wanted stamp set, scallop punch, Outlaw paper, jumbo eyelet, and wide grosgrain ribbon.  Contact me to purchase your own Crop-A-Dile and other great Stampin’ Up! products.   My contact information is at the right in the Demonstrator Website link.

Dream Big

I just got back from another awesome Stampin’ Up! convention.  I meant to post some during the week, but there never seemed to be enough time to do everything.  I didn’t even get to take many photos of the display boards this year.  It’s a good thing that we can  purchase a CD with lots of the display projects.  The theme of convention was Dream Big, so here is one of my swap cards with one of the new SU sets.

More Stamp Camp Swaps

I had a slight Harry Potter diversion.  We HAD to see the movie before the book came out.  And then I HAD to read the 6th book to refresh my memory.  And then I HAD to read the last book right away before I found out any spoilers.  I’m now back on track with swaps and packing!

First is an old template for an easy cardstock standing frame.  Next is a coaster chipboard frame with faux hinges which was a class project from the spring.

Am I Crazy?

I did 4 groups for the stamp camp swap at convention last year and loved all the great projects.  This year I signed up for 6 groups of 20 - crazy, yes?  Well they are actually almost finished and I will show you the projects over the next few days.  The tab punch treat bag (top) is the same template as my 4th of July treat bag.  The simplified photo wallet (yoyo yellow) was featured earlier in my blog (March 8).  I made the Dream Big notpad holder to fit a 4×6 notpad.  I previously made this during Sellabration as a 3×9 notpad holder for those of you that remember our class with the cow pencils from Target.convention-swaps-001-copy.jpg

SCS SWAPS

I have been very busy lately with a splitcoaststampers project and of course -  SWAPS for convention which starts one week from today!  Over the next few days I will showcase some of the swaps I have made.  Speaking of showcase, a card of mine is featured today on the Stampers Showcase on the demonstrator side of the SU website! See my April 5th entry here for the original faux filmstip card.  The frog panel in the SS card is askew and they decided to leave it that way for their photo - oh well….

These 2 cards are for the RED and BLUE swaps at the SCS dinner.  I hope you like them.  THey both were really fun to make.  I even talked my son into helping me punch out the flowers (he likes gadgets).  The top card features the new punch kit and has a mini 3×3 card mounted on top. The monthly special for August will be a free set of 30 3×3 love notes in textured Pomegranate, Wasabi and Saffron paper with your purchase of the punch kit (a $12.95 value).  Plus I will have  special Class by Mail projects featuring this kit as well.  More about that later in the month.   The second card features the photo corners punch and the by definition stamp set.scs-swaps-copy.jpg

Photo Corner Punch

Here’s a couple of cards I made using the new punch in some unusual ways.  I love the new By Definition stamp set!   And of course the new In Colors, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava and Blue Bayou, are wonderful.  The new double stitched ribbon is great - I can’t wait to get all the colors!

July Stampin’ Techniques Class

How the summer is flying by!  Here are 2 of the projects we will be making this Friday evening.  Learn how to use up your scraps in an easy strip border (stamp set - zoofari).   Use the slit punch to make a scallop border (stamp set - Happy Occasions and jumbo wheel).  The wheel guide is a must with this wheel to avoid a wavy line of text!  As you can see, I got my new circle scallop punch too!

IMPORTANT:  Orders are due by July 20th.  Receive your order and class projects about 10 days from then.

Recommended additional products for these projects: Basic Black Inkpad, a redish inkpad - I used Rose Red.  The new Purely Pomegranate would be great too.  A light peachy inkpad - I used Cameo Coral.  The new Groovy Guava would be great too, or you could “stamp off” with your Rose Red ink for the petal background.  Hugs& Wishes stamp set p. 143 or Stem Sayings stamp set p.133 or other greeting stamps.  Mini glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals p. 185 to adhere ribbon, petals and flower centers.
