World Card Making Day
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007World Card Making Day
Monday, September 24th, 2007Note - I just updated my Stamps for sale retired garage sale list - see tab on the top.
For my next WCMD card I use the Three Thoughts Simply Sent kit. The flower is punched out with the 3/4 inch circle punch and adhered with a dimensional. Contact me for more information on how to get this kit at 20% off or more!
National Card Making Day
Friday, September 21st, 2007This card uses the Simple Delights kit. This is a really pretty set and color combination. I changed things around for this sample, using vanilla cardstock instead of twill tape. I have no idea how many people will be buying tickets for our event, so I need to be flexible with supplies. The 2 vintage brads add a little dimension. This would be a nice masculine card - no flowers in sight.
World Card Making Day
Thursday, September 20th, 2007The event is decided (MOMS fundraiser at Grace Church in Erie). The date is set (Friday Oct 5 at 7PM). Now to choose the cards. I want to do 6 or 7 easy cards. I’ve made 10 over the last few days so I’ll post them and we’ll see what would work the best for a (hopefully) large group.
I preordered 3 of the Simply Sent kits that will be on special during the event. First is the Happy Day kit. We will do one 3×3 card, but as you can see it is easy to change around. I added some Rose Red Prints Designer Paper for variety.
Stem Silhouettes
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007NOTE: Class by Mail and Ribbon Share orders must be in by Thursday. And don’t forget to order the great Fall Frenzy Special. As you can see, I have been enjoying the sets that I ordered earlier in the month.
Here is the other card that we made at last night’s workshop. This one was really quick - even with the paper piercing. We used the Pick a Petal Brass template to make the half circle. The strip of Basic Grey is textured, from the neutral collection. The ribbon is soft sky double stitched and the scallop is punched from River Rock. You could also use a circle cut with the Coluzzle Cutting system, as was my inspiration for this card. I believe it was demonstrated at the Lousiville Regionals - I just added the paper pierced circle and changed a few things.
Thoroughly Thankful
Monday, September 17th, 2007I am thankful for many things today - a beautiful crisp day, my family and my stampin’ friends. Here is one of the cards for tonight’s workshop using the thoroughly thankful set from the SU September special. We will stamp in Timber Brown StazOn on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Watercoloring is done with aqua painter and the Earth Elements ink pads (get all 12 inkpads free this month - see sidbar). Some stampin’ dimensionals and new gold cord (holiday minicatalog) really set this off.
September Class by Mail
Thursday, September 13th, 2007For this month, Class By Mail will consist of 3 separate kits! Each kit is $5 (includes postage!) and will contain a full color photo with instructions plus all the papers and ribbons precut to make 3 of the same card. The 3 kits will go along with sets from the September Special (below). The Autumn Fest card will have a panel of stamped leaves (first picture – right), the Elementary Essentials card will look like a book using wide grosgrain ribbon(first picture left) and open up to showcase a photo mat and journaling block (2nd picture left). The Stem Silhouettes card will be similar to the one in the minicatalog (2nd picture right). For Club Members – Each kit is $2 off! Orders should be in by September 20. I take paypal and credit cards. I am also doing a ribbon share for the Double- Stitched In Color Ribbons - 3 yds each of 6 colors for $13.50 plus $1 postage. Orders are due by Sept 20.
Halloween Class Projects
Wednesday, September 12th, 2007Oh what fun I have had working on projects using the Batty for You stamp set and Creepy Crawly Designer Paper! Some are CASES of great projects by fellow splitcoaststampers. Now, how to decide on which 3 or 4 to use for my Halloween class! (See my demonstrator website link to the right for my class calendar). More about the individual projects to come. By the way, the tray is from Taste of Home Entertaining (link also to the right).
MOMS page
Tuesday, September 11th, 2007I have been busy getting tickets and flyers ready for my World Card Making Day event. It will be a fundraiser for my MOMS group at Grace Church Friday Oct 5 at 7PM. Today I also threw together a couple of pages for our MOM bulletin board which is very EMPTY at the moment and needed some content. These are some pictures from our Leadership Team Retreat. Stamp Sets: Wanted, Well Worn Alphabet. Paper: Apple Cider, Ruby Red, Scallop Punch, SU journaling font. We will be working on the MOMS scrapbook next Friday at our weekly meeting.
