One Scrappin’ Kit – One Hour!

I had a lofty goal today – to take the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin’ Kit and see what I could make in one hour!  Obviously, this project did not take very long to complete, plus I had a lot to show for my one hour of work.  I even had time to take a few photos along the way!

Step 1:  I planned my attack.  This kit contains 8 pieces of textured cardstock, 6 sheets of 2 sided designer paper and 6 sheets of self-adhesive diecuts.  I wanted to complete my 6 by 6 red album (20 pages) and also make some cards.  I decided that the quickest way would be to make 20 – 6″ by 3″ cards which would also conveniently fit in one package of small open-end envelopes.

Step 2:  Cut all the cardstock and paper to 6×6″.  This was quick with my heavy duty Carl Cutter.  I then took 16 of my 6×6 designer sheets and cut them again at 3″, 2″ and 1″.  (This left 8 designer sheets at 6×6 for my cards/pages.)

Step 3.  I folded half of the 6×6 pieces to become cards.  I used the bone folder since it is really easy to fold the textured CS- it has no play if you start to fold against the grain.  You could also score first if you have more time.

Step 4.  I started adding my 1,2 or 3 inch pieces of designer paper to each card.  I also decided at this point to save some time and cut the 2 sheets of die-cut borders in half.  I added some of these borders next to the designer paper.  And then I threw on some of the die-cuts sentiments and designs.

Here are the finished cards.  Obviously, I could add some stamped greetings, ribbon or more die-cuts, but the clock was still ticking!

Step 4:  On to my pages!  I quickly laid out my 20 pages and added the strips of designer paper just like with the cards.  Again, I added some of the die-cut border strips and some of the die-cut shapes and letters.

It was so much fun tossing on those die-cuts, that I wanted to keep on going, but my time was up.  Here are the pages.  I can always add some more “stuff” after the photos are on.  Now do I keep the book for me, or use it as a Christmas gift!

And here’s what is left for adding later, or for future projects.

Step 5:  Now you try this project too!  Make 20 Christmas cards plus a fun Christmas album to gift or to use for your holiday photos  – all in about an hour (and for about $50).  As an incentive, I am offering the following special deal:  purchase the 6×6 linen album (19.95) and the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin’ Kit ($19.95) and I will take 50% off of your package of 20 small open-end envelopes (a savings of $3.75).  I can take credit cards or paypal.  Order are delivered to your home by UPS in about 7 business days.  Mention my blog to get this special.
