Today’s Tip - Crayon Resist with Embrace Life

Friday, January 18th, 2008

This is my favorite of the new sets that I preordered.  And it was a cinch to use the crayon resist technique.  Love that beautiful Ginger Blossoms paper too!  This was my make and take for both my January open house and my Erie demonstrator meeting.

1.  Stamp flowers in Basic Black on glossy Cardstock.

2.  Cover the blossoms only with white crayon.

3.  Brayer with River Rock ink.

4.  Wipe the wax off with a tissue.

5.  Mount panel to River Rock panel and then to your Cameo Coral card with strip of dp and Ruby Red CS.

A Little Birdie

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I got my SAB preorder yesterday!  Sale-a-bration is Feb 1 - March 17 this year - so get ready to save!  But first some more samples from the new catalog.  I just love this cute new set.  Here’s a simple card with a bit of Prints Designer paper in Almost Amethyst.  I think I might add some more DP and Paper Piece the birds to make it extra cute.

Ok, I just couldn’t rest until those birds were pieced.  Don’t they look so much better now?

Today’s Tip - Small Shadowbox Card

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I like this small version of the shadowbox/tunnel card because it fits in a standard invitation size envelope.    To see my larger sized card go here.

1.  Cut 2 pieces cardstock at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

2.  Score at 1/2 and 1 inch from both ends.

3.  Cut a coluzzle circle in the center of one piece.

4.  Adhere ends together, folding on score lines in opposite directions.

Today’s Tip - Binding Fold Card

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

This is an interesting card template that I like to use:

1.  Cut cardstock in half lengthwise (11 1/2 by 4 1/4).

2.  Fold in half.  (Score first because you are folding against the grain).

3.  Score again 1/2 inch from the fold line.  This will be on the front of the card, forming the binding.

4.  Secure the binding with brads, eyelets and/or ribbon.

Here are 2 examples using the Time Well Spent and A Beautiful Thing sets with linen thread.
