More Leadership Swaps

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Here is another idea using the frame from the Top Note Die.  I also used the Flower Layers die and the Elegant Thank you single stamp.  There will be a new series of single stamps in the catalog - each under $10.

News From Leadership

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

I have a few minutes and free Internet at Denny’s to write a bit.  My roommates, Sharon, Diane and I are all here with our computers updating our blogs and posting on www.splitcoaststampers.com to the demo forums.  We have had a great week!  My first day was busy from 7:45AM to 8:30 PM because I was a make and take helper.  We had to make our own projects, then help at 2 sessions.  But one advantage was that we got to shop first at the Momento Mall.  Here are the items I purchased:

t_lead-stuff-001.jpg

Here is the bag they gave us.  Isn’t it cute?  It fits 12×12 stuff and has display pockets for 4 photos.  It matches one of our new designer papers - sweet summer specialty.  Several of the new DSPs are textured!  Our stamp set was cute too.  I’ll post the make and takes when I get a chance.  There’s also a matching set of chipboard with the birds and a cute owl.  There is lots of new fun things in the catalog - a neat circle cutter, new dsps, courderoy buttons, big brads, flower brads, glitters and much more.  There are also lots of cool new things for the Big Shot including Texture plates.

Leadership Swaps

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Here are some swaps that I am bringing to Leadership.  If you use 1/4 sheet of cardstock to cut your Top Note Die, the frame (here Chocolate Chip) can be used for a different card.  The stamp set here is the new hostess Level 3 set - Dream a Little.  Doesn’t it look dreamy in Old Olive, So Saffron and More Mustard?

Top Note Treat Tutorial

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

This is the treat holder I made for swapping at convention.  I used the Top Note die, Rose Red Cardstock and Sweet Stems Stamp set.

t_leadership-treat-holder-006.jpg

1.  Cover square chocolates (Target) with strips of Rasberry Tart DSP.  I think these were 2 1/4 x 7/8″. Place 6 candies in a small cello bag.  Tape closed.

t_leadership-treat-holder-001.jpg

2.  Cut a 4 1/4″ x 8″ piece of cardstock.  Score at 2, 4, and 6 inches.  Fold at the middle score and place on the Top Note Die so that the bottom (unfolded) edge is just under the cutting blade.

Your piece will look like this:

3.  Stamp flowers on the 2 end panels.  Snail the candy pack to your die cut piece.  Fold up the stamped panels.  Punch a 1/16 inch hole at the center edge and tie with linen thread.

Tie with a piece of Kiwi Kiss Ribbon.

Think Pink AND Red

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Here is another Valentines’ Day set that is only available until Jan 18 in the Holiday Minicatalog - Love Owlways.  I gave this set to my mom for Christmas.  It is so cute!  It is paired with Pink Pirouette Cardstock, Riding Hood Red Pattern Designer Series Paper and Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon.  If you haven’t seen this ribbon in person, you just have to have it.  It has a beautiful vanilla edge and is so soft and nice to work with.  Remember to contact me with your order or visit www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

Think Pink

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Here is another stamp set from the Holiday Minicatalog that you won’t want to miss.  The “A Happy Heart” stamp set is only available until Jan 18, so this is a perfect time to order all your Valentines’ Day supplies.   I also used Kraft and Pixie Pink cardstock in these samples.  I used a new technique called “roll with the punches”.  You punch circles out of a scrap piece of cardstock and then place it over your card and wheel.  The circles are traced with the white gel pen.  I’m not sure if I really like this how this technique looks on my samples, but it was pretty easy and worth a further try.  On the second card I wheeled on a Kraft scrap and then punching out the circles and layered them.  It gives the same sort of look, but with a little more dimension.

Think Spring

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

I’m heading to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference soon, so it’s time to forget about the snow and think about spring weather.

You will not want to miss purchasing the Season of Friendship stamp set - available only until Jan 18 in the Holiday Minicatalog.  This set is beautiful for all seasons of the year.  I used it a lot for fall and winter cards - now here is a spring card.  It also features our large eyelets.  The last time a tree set was featured in a minicatalog, it commanded a high price after it was no longer available, so get it now at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

Scallop Medallion Tutorial

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

For the next few days I want to feature some products from the current Minicatalog which is almost to its end date.  The Felt Flurries are a beautiful accessory.  Use them for your winter notes and thank yous as well as your winter scrapbook pages.  And stock up for next holiday season, because this collection will only be available until Jan 18.  This card also features the scallop edge punch and the scallop square punch.

To make the medallion,

1.  Cut a 2 3/4 by 2 3/4 inch square of cardstock (white in this photo).

2.  Punch a square scallop (here riding hood red) and cut diagonally into quarters.

3.  Adhere each quarter to an edge of the white piece - don’t cover the punched out scallops.  This allows the base cardstock (Baja Breeze) to show.

The first photo shows the BACK of the medallion.  The finished card is next.  Wouldn’t this be cute using a heart for Valentines Day instead of the snowflake?  Methinks I heard a rumor of a new large heart punch for the new catalog.  There is also a heart die available from Stampin’ Up! for the Big Shot.  As always, thanks for shopping at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net
