Watercolor Wash

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

This new technique was demonstrated at a recent Stampin’ Up! Regional Conference.  Going to SU events is another great reason to become a demonstrator.  For this technique you emboss in white on shimmery white cardstock.  After heavily spritzing the paper with water, you dab reinker into the puddles with your aquapainter.  It’s fun to watch the colors spread around.  here I used Pretty in Pink and Rose Red.  The stamp set is 5th Avenue Floral.  The first background is a Texturz plate and the second is the Manhattan Rose Embossing template - both SU exclusive for the Big Shot - order at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net for the best pricing.  The demonstrator starter kit can also be ordered online.

Scrapbooking Papers and Kit

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Only 3 days left to purchase designer papers and the scrapbooking demonstrator kit on sale.  This card uses the idea of paper weaving from our demonstrator magazine.  I used the Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper and the Great Friend Stamp Set.  The bottom butterfly is a Big Shot Die (SU exclusive).  I think I will enter a variation of this card into the monthly demonstrator contest.  Winners get free stamp sets!  Ordering the kit or products is easy at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

Scrapbooking Papers and Kit

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Only 4 more days to purchase the designer papers and the scrapbooking demonstrator kit on sale.  This card is copied almost exactly from  our demonstrator magazine.  It features the Urban Oasis Designer paper, Upsy Daisy Stamp Set and White Embossing.  One of our clips holds a knot of Baja Breeze ribbon.  I think that is the IN color that I will miss the most.  Purchasing the kit or the papers is easy online at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! now has a YouTube channel - check out some great videos here:

http://www.youtube.com/stampinupvideo

This is the last week to purchase the May Special Stampin’ Up! scrapbooking starter kit for only $75 at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net .   May is a great time to become a demonstrator - besides the great price, on June 1 we are able to preorder select products from the upcoming catalog at 20% off (in addition to our usual 20% discount)!  The retired accessory and stamp set lists will also be published on June 1 - so check back here on Monday.  Retired stamp sets will be available until June 30, however all retiring accessories (including any In Color inpads, cardstock and ribbons) are only available while supplies last, so contact me quickly or put your order in at my website so you don’t miss out.  ADDED 5/27 - IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT SOME RETIRING PRODUCTS WILL BE DISCOUNTED (UP TO 50%).  I expect that they will sell out quickly, so get your order in on June 1 as soon as the list comes out.

Did you know that there are different pricing scales for online orders?  If you order from the SU website you will pay 10% more, because they wish to encourage people to experience the personal service of a demonstrator.  Even if you choose a demo from the list, the shipping will be still higher.  To receive the best price and shipping price, order directly from me (by phone or email) or from my personal website at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net .  I also like to send a stamped card or product sampler to everyone who places an online order.

A new June special for hostesses was just announced today!

The Summer Fun Hostess Bonus Promotion has two parts:

•Hostesses who hold a $250-$399.99 workshop will receive an additional $20 in hostess free merchandise dollars.
•Hostesses who hold a $400 or more workshop will receive an additional $40 in hostess free merchandise dollars.

Free Designer Papers

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

All month I have been featuring Stampin’ Up! Designer Papers because:

1.  I love working with them

2.  They are on sale for May- Buy 3, get 1 free at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net or contact me

These projects were inspired by Julie Davidson.  They feature the Walk in the Park Designer Paper, The Great Friend stamp set and the Matchbox die for the Big Shot.  If you cut off the small flap for the matchbox sleeve and taper the other end, you can adhere it to make a fold in top (rather than the sliding matchbox top).

Class Time

Friday, May 15th, 2009

The Bleached Clock Card will probably be another class project.  All three of these cards have some things in common.

1.  They all use our In Colors.

2.  They all use Textured Cardstock (on sale this month).

3.  They are all 3″ by 6″ cards.  I like this size when using 12 x 12 paper.  You can get 4 cards from a sheet and they fit a standard letter sized envelope.  Besides which, its nice to vary the size on occasion!

4.  They were all inspired by recent Stampin’ Success Magazines (the monthly Stampin’ Up! demonstrator magazine).

5.  All 3 cards used products from the Occasions minicatalog (Sense of Time, Summer Soft, Window Sheets).  I will miss those sets at the end of June, but we can look forward to a brand new big catalog for July 1.

Just a note - the Tangerine Tango card uses no stamps - just rub-ons.  The window sheet is raised on dimensionals. The Bright Delights Rub-ons were used on the window sheet, the white panel under the window sheet and the sentiment on the bottom of the card.  All products can be purchased at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

I added the “Pull” using the Tab Punch so that the recipient knows how to open the card!

Again, I  used the Parisian Breeze DSP and the textured Baja Breeze- my favorites.

Stamp Sets used are Forest Friends, Curvy Verses and Calendar Alphabet.  All supplies can be purchased at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

Happy Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

This elegant Mother’s Day Card was so easy to make.  Wonderful Watercolors is the name of the stamp set and Parisian Breeze is the name of the Designer Series Paper.  I just tore off the bottom edge of the paper and flipped it to the other side and tied with our tafetta ribbon.  Remember, all Designer paper is buy 3, get one free for the month of May.  This one is my favorite, so I will be stocking up!  Contact me or order at www.kwstamps.stampinup.net

This was also my swap card for our last demonstrator meeting.
