Stamp Club

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Our stamp club orders should be arriving soon.  I will include 2 of our die cut cards with each order and some In Colors DSP to make these simple but striking cards.  Just place a bit of adhesive on the front of the 4 corners and adhere to the inside of the card.  For more ideas on how to step it up  in decorating these cards, see p. 186 in the catalog.  Since these 4×4 cards can’t be mailed directly, they are great for gift cards or little notes for back to school.

Delightful Decorations again

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

This card was CASEd from our demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success with a few changes.  I used the snowflake stamp in 3 ways - as a background on the card base, embossed in white on the Bashful Blue ornament and punched on the Ruby Red Ornament.  I also added a little bling with the rhinestone taken from one of our clear rhinestone brads in the Pretties Kit.  Just pull apart all the prongs with plyers and it pops out.  The sentiment is from the new Four the Holidays set.

Stampin’ Success Magazine

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Here are a couple of cards I CASEd from the August Stampin’ Success Magazine.  This free monthly magazine is just one of the many perks that demonstrators get.  This is a great time to join because we are at the beginning of a new catalog year and the fabulous new minicatalog has just been released.  SU has partnered with Build a Bear Workshop to create some great new stamp sets and Big Shot dies.  And soon, My Digital Studio will be released.  These new products will be big sellers for our demonstrators.  So whether you want to earn some extra cash, or just pay for your hobby, contact me for details.  A mini starter kit is available this month for only $85.  You can purchase it right on line at my website www.kwstamps.stampinup.net  I’m also giving away a DSP sampler ring to everyone who joins my team (while supplies last).  Or you can purchase the sampler for $12.50 plus shipping.

First - Flight of the Butterfly

I tend not to use the Bold Brights colors, so this sample, almost exactly from the magazine, challenged me to get out of my comfort zone.

For this card, I changed out the stamp set.  The magazine used the new princess set which I don’t have.  So I switched out for the Cheep Talk set.  The felt flower is from our Flower Fusion with a rhinestone brad- a great way to add dimension.

Mojo Medallion

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I made this card using the sketch from www.mojomondayblogspot.com

The medallion background stamp has to be a top seller this year.  There is so much you can do with it.  Here I just use the center circle to fit the sketch and added an Ice Circle Rhinestone Brad.  Colors are Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand.  DSP is Thoroughly Modern.

Here is one I made with the gorgeous new Medallion stamp plus my Sanded background in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  And also a card with Autumn Days.  That will be a great set for fall and for masculine cards.

This set is made with the Level 3 hostess set Kind & Caring Thoughts.  These are my favorite hostess sets in several years.  And we get 2 new ones to choose from in the Holiday Minicatalog starting Sept 1!

These cards are made with the Big Shot Movers and Shapers Dies. These are so much fun!  They are a big investment, but you can use them both for window cards and for layering with the SU punches.  The first card shows a technique shown in one of the class planners that SU provides to demos.  Demos are great at sharing (especially when they have a chance to win free stamps)!  To make the half heart trifold, you just position the cutting pad right at the fold.  It’s a little awkward to sent it through the Big Shot, but you will find that only the part of the heart that is on the cutting pad will cut.  What a cool idea!

And here is the last set of cards with a cute accordian card holder held shut with a Jumbo Brad.  I made all these when my downline was over a few weeks ago.  Thanks Pam for sharing your stamps and ideas!  I used the Nouveau Chic DSP for all of these - love it!

Club Kit

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

The UPS truck will be stopping by soon with your stamp club orders.  Here are some instructions for the card portfolio kit that I will include with your order.

sampler-and-class-003-copy.jpgsampler-and-class-002-copy.jpg

Adhere the outside edges of the portfolio pocket with the adhesive of your choice (I used brads).  Leave the inside edge open so there is room for the card and envelope.  Attach the long strip of Razzlebery DSP to the front, covering the brad if you used one.   If you want to close with ribbon, you can either place a long piece on top of the DSP, or place 2 shorter pieces under the DSP.  Or leave without a closure.  Stamp the white circles with the stamp of your choice (I used Circle Circus).  Attach to layers as pictured.  Same with the correspondence cards.  You just have one, but I think up to 4 cards will fit nicely in this portfolio.  Here are the dimensions if you want to try one from scratch.

11x 8 1/2 sheet CS

score long ways at 5 1/4 and 5 3/4

score other side at 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 to form pocket

cut out the middle section of the pocket so it will fold up
