I got this idea for a gift card holder from splitcoaststampers.  I’m also using it as a thank you/business card holder for people that order online  from me this month.  When I get my Jolly Holiday DSP from the Contempo Christmas Bundle (20% off on my website!) we can make some Christmas gift card holders too.  And this will be a great swap idea for the SU Leadership Conference in January (I’m going this year!  So excited!)

Instructions for Slit Latch Card

I used the AutumnSpice DSP  because it is heavy weight.  You can also use cardstock, or attach lighter DSP to cardstock to make the holder more sturdy.

1. Cut 10″ by 2 3/4″, score at 5″

2. For holder, cut a 1 1/8 x 5 inch strip.  Attach on inside ONLY on left edge for now.

3. Make a pencil mark on the outside and inside at 1″ by 1 3/8″ (the center of the card, 1″ in from right edge).  Your slits will end at that mark.  Outside: cut from top corner to mark.  Inside:  cut from bottom corner to mark (you will cut off a bit of the holder). 

4.  Now you can adhere the rest of the holder – bottom and right edge only so there is room for your gift card.

5.  Add some ribbon – here is  PEARPIZZAZZ ribbon

6.  Sentiment on front is from Sincere Salutations and Thank you Kindly stamp sets with scallop oval punch.
