These pumpkin face sugar cookies were a big hit at the craft fair. The new cookie stamps are lots of fun. You can see a photo and pricing info in an earlier post. The stamp for the tag is #116978 for $8.95.
I thought the shortbread recipe that came with the cookies spread out too much. This one of mine uses more flour and chills the dough which is better to preserve the stamped image on the cookie. You can roll them in balls and stamp. But what I did was roll out the dough, stamp and then cut with a cookie cutter.
2/3 c butter or margarine
3/4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt (opt)
Cream butter and sugar. Added eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Chill. Roll out and cut. Bake 7-9 minutes 375.
