Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities

At Stamp Class yesterday, I shared what I learned at the Stampin’ Up! Convention about the new Blendabilities alcohol markers.  I gave them all some prestamped images to practice with and some Back to Black Designer Series Paper (on sale in July).  I didn’t have time to make my usual samples, so the cards turned out all different.  I enjoyed seeing all their creativity.   Thanks for being good sports Joanne, Anita, Maggie, Jackie, Vicki, Patti and Priscila!

Today’s Tips –

-use Memento (Tuxedo Black) ink and Whisper White Cardstock for best results.

-keep caps on tightly, use silicone pad if they are hard to remove, line up on the table and click shut to avoid damaging tips.

-It doesn’t matter if you go light to dark or dark to light.  Use circular motions to blend the colors.  Work in small sections to keep the color wet and moveable.  Go back afterwards and add more layers for even more shading.  You can even shade with just one color – just keep adding more to areas you want darker.

-For faces try a  bit of blush highlight to the cheeks, then blend with ivory, covering the entire face.  If you want to use one of the darker colors tones, just add some bits here and there, and then quickly blend with a lighter color.  Otherwise it will be too dark.

-Use the color lifter to push color back over the line or into some scrap paper under your cardstock.

-The color lifter can also lighten sections.  Leave a white space and use the color lifter to blend in just a touch of color.

– Shade or simply color the Back to Black Designer Series Paper – awesome!
