Party Planning Party

Stampin’ Up! asked me to post during our 24 hour Party Planning Party.  The new catalog starts June 1 and we are brainstorming cool projects and fun events for June.  And there are even more Stampin’ Rewards just for June, so contact me to get your home or virtual party on the calendar today!

I decided to feature the old, yet new again trend of metallic copper.  The new catalog has copper embossing powder and a beautiful Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape that have some copper accents (Affectionately Yours).  They coordinate in a suite of products with the “Love and Affection” stamp set that I used here.

For this card I used the new Layering Squares Framelits and the 1/2 inch punch to make the flower centers.  I embossed Pearl Basic Jewels by dipping in Versamark, then pouring on the Copper Embossing Powder.  It was rather a messy process, but turned out to be a fun accent.  I stamped off the flowers on the panel with the Crumb Cake ink to make them slightly lighter in shade.

For the next series of cards, I adapted a popular layout to make quick and easy multiples.  This card would be great for a class because you can get 12 cards out of one sheet of DSP (see photo).  First cut 4×6 pieces.  Then mark each piece at 2-1/2″ from each end (see photo) and cut with your Stampin’ Trimmer.  There is only 1 sheet of the copper accented paper in this pattern, but you are just using a small strip so it will go a long ways.  You will need to cut the strips at 1/2″ by 4-1/2 inch so you have room to trim at the edges.   Do this before mounting to the card base.  Or use the copper accented Washi Tape, as I did in the 2nd card.  Stamp with Night of Navy and Crumb Cake inks on a Crumb Cake card base.

You will be able to purchase all of these new products at my website shop starting June 1.  Or you can add some of them right now to your demonstrator starter kit (join now).

And finally, here is the list of events that I will be sharing (or have shared) at the Party Planning Party.

For our newbies and hobbyists:

Stamp with a Friend – set a date and invite one or 2 friends over.  Have an easy project ready or ask them to help you with some ideas using the supplies in your kit.  Be sure to have the new catalog handy so you can get them excited about new products and helping you stay active as a demonstrator.  Be sure to enter your date on the survey so you can earn the prize if we meet the goal.

Card Swap – Here’s another idea if you have friends that already stamp – pick a date to get together at a coffee house for a card swap.  Each participant brings enough cards of one design so everyone takes home one of each.  Again, have the new catalogs ready to give away and let them know that you can take orders at any time, including online if they choose you as their demonstrator.  Be sure that you have signed up for the demonstrator directory.  Go to the demonstrator website.  Click the arrow next to your name and select “Referral Policy Agreement”.  Uncheck the 2 boxes and click submit.

Facebook Party – Here’s another idea to involve friends and family from out of town – pick a date for an online Facebook event and send out invites.  Set aside part of the day for stamping and share your project(s) in process.  At the end, list the supplies that you used and include a link to the online store.  You could also share one or two of the new product videos by Stampin’ Up!  or some of the corporate photos.   Share your stamping goals too.  Share what you love about Stampin’ Up! and what you would like to experience/accomplish with your time as a demonstrator.
