OSW in Stampin Up lingo stands for One Sheet Wonder.  I can remember back when this term was first introduced at a Stampin’ Up! meeting.  (Yes, I am an old timer).  It refers to the division of one sheet of designer or stamped paper into pieces, all of which can be used on a different project.  It’s all about saving time and making multiples.

A friend showed me this great template for the 6×6 DSP stacks that gives you pieces for 4 different cards.  The first set I made was with the Quilted Christmas DSP stack.  Since the paper is double sided, it gives even more options – these 4 cards were made with one sheet.  I added it to Garden Green cardstock panels and a Thick Whisper White card.  I used Watercolor Christmas and Ready for Christmas for the sentiments, cut with the Stitched Shapes framelit dies.

I decided to use the same layout for my OnStage swaps with the Petal Garden DSP stack and the Graceful Garden Stamp set.  This combo will be great for Valentine’s Day and other occasions after the holidays.

Here’s the layout – first cut is at 4″.  The 2″ piece can be trimmed to 5-1/4″ for one card.  (Save the scraps and combine in an interesting pattern on another project).   Turn and cut at 4″ again and you get a 2×4 piece for another card.  Take the 4″ square and cut on the diagonal for the last 2 cards.

I took the OSW one more step since I was trying to use an entire stack of 48 sheets for my swaps.  I took some 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 sheets of Whisper White cardstock and stamped randomly for my greetings.  This gives you a feel for the traditional OSW.  I used this one on a few of the cards that didn’t have as much pattern in the DSP itself.  For the rest, I went with just the grid stamped randomly in Pool Party ink.

I used 4 different size framelits for the greeting so I could run through the Big Shot fewer times – another time saver.

These are just 4 of the possible combinations you can make from one sheet of the 6×6 DSP.   I added a Ribbon Border Punch strip from the scraps left from cutting down my panels to 4 x 5-1/4.  I used several coordinating colors for the panels to get different color strips.  If you don’t have the punch, just used the strips by themselves.  To make into full cards, just add to a Thick Whisper White card base (8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored and folded).  And add a coordinating bow as well.
