A Stamper To Remember

Lavender and Valentine’s Day

Here’s a peek into my creative process. These cards came about because I wanted to use a doily with the Lots of Lavender stamp set. First I decided to sponge the doily to color it.  Then I decided that the stenciled piece of paper underneath was so pretty that I had to make another card with that.  Then I wanted to try a fun partial die cutting technique with the square framelit dies.  Then the heart needed some texture.  Then I needed to add a few more embellishments. So here is the final creation, some tips and all the products I used along the way (click on the thumbnails at the bottom).

I started sponging with Rich Razzleberry, then decided that a lighter shade (Powder Pink) was better and did not overpower the sprig of lavender.

I marked where I wanted the die to cut, and fussy cut above it.

I put the fussy cut portion above the die so it wouldn’t cut.  You can do partial die cutting  with any shape of framelit die.  What a fun technique!

One card uses the Epoxy Shapes and one uses a pearl.  Both can be colored easily with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.

I hope you try some of these techniques in your creative process!    And thanks for supporting my home business by shopping with me.

Lots of Lavender has been one of the top Sale-a-bration freebies this year, so don’t forget to grab yours.  And if you want to get even more perks from Stampin’ Up! check out my website and Join the Fun.  You get 2 extra stamp sets during Sale-a-bration and the kit always ships free.  I’d love to have you on my team!

Happy crafting,
