Layered Marker Technique and Hinge Stamping

I’m repeating this card from my last class for one of my Stampin’ Up! OnStage swaps. I uses the Layered Marker Technique.  This is especially easy with the Stamparatus, because you can fill in any missing areas or just add more color and re-stamp.

Today’s Tips:

I used the Regals and Neutrals Stampin’ Write Markers to color directly on the Winter Woods stamps with the brush tip.

The metallic edged cards are great for this one-layer card.  I used Gold for the colored leaves and Silver for shades of green (see product list below).

You can lay down the color in any fashion when using the Stamparatus.  I tried different ways and it still looked nice.  You can do one color at a time then stamp, or a bunch at once.  Since I was making multiples, I found it quick to add some broad stripes across with the lighter colors and then add some blobs and dots with the darker colors, saving the darkest for around the edges.  I then added  Soft Suede for the tree trunk and stamped all at once.  I went back and added more color if needed.

The second technique used on these cards was hinge stamping or as I like to call it – hinge jumping.  The ground stamp is small, so by moving down one hinge each time, you get a nice large area, perfectly aligned.  I used the Crumb Cake Marker.

I made the swap cards while in my hotel room in Seattle.  It was easy to pack everything needed in my thirty-one hanging traveler case.  I did leave the Stamparatus magnets at home – I wasn’t sure how they would do with the scanners at the airport.

So as this posts, I should be in Orlando checking in for Stampin’ Up! OnStage and getting my bag of goodies.  I’m so excited to see old friends and new, and to be part of the 30 year Anniversary celebration.  And it’s my 20th anniversary of being a demonstrator, so I get to walk the stage too!  I won’t be posting here until I get back – so to see what’s happening in Orlando this week, check out my Facebook page.  #StampinUp30 #OnStage2018

Why not be part of the fun?  You can be a happy shopper with the demonstrator discount and/or start your own rewarding stamping business.  Check it out here and share the excitement with me!

Happy crafting,
